Halloween 2006
Tomorrow is Halloween. I’m looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to Halloween because I think Halloween is one of the best nights of the year for loving your neighbors and finding creative ways to share the gospel. Just think, is there any other night of the year where your neighborhood comes alive with everyone walking the streets, saying “h”i to each other, and knocking on each other’s doors?
Halloween is a great holiday to redeem for the cause of Christ. This Tuesday night I’d encourage you to enter into conversation with and love your neighbors as you walk the neighborhood with your kids or as you receive the people that come to your door (I hope your house isn’t “the” dark house where it’s obvious that people are home, but that trick or treaters aren’t wanted. As a little boy I grew scared of those dark homes and those neighbors. Those people made it clear that they didn’t want to get to know and love the neighborhood).
Justin,
I’ve added you to my http://bloglines and look forward to reading more. My friend and yours Todd L. speaks highly of you and I can already see why.

Thanks to those of you who joined us up in San Bruno. You can’t imagine how hard it was for me to put that first coloring book into a child’s bag, I was afraid I’d offend someone or that they would have a negitive reaction to what I was doing, then it dawned on me… Did I really have a solid faith in the Lord? A faith that I would be willing to die for? It appeared in this moment I wouldn’t even feel acquward for my faith. As the night progressed, and we passed out 60 more books, I realized just much my representation of faith was needed. Sitting on a block full of death, witches, blood, ghost and eveything dark and I was considered the odd one because I was sharing the love of Jesus with others. My heart breaks for the condition of our nation, when this country, founded on faith, has turned our backs to the Lord so much that sharing his love is veiwed as being offensive. Thank you Justin for inspiring me to come out of my Christian bubble and attempt to make an impact for Chirst here on the Peninsula.
