George Grant had done a lot of research and work on Chalmers, but the book he wrote was never actually published. You may want to contact George Grant's ministry to see if you can get some info from him. Try the link below.

Forgot to add. Have you read Robert Boyle's writings? Boyle was the one who coined the term "chemist" and was both an chemist and theologian. You might find his writings to be interesting.

Thanks for the brief entry. I am a chem prof/former campus minister in the Seattle area (from the MW originally) and appreciate the "point" towards Chalmers. The comments have been a good start to my education about a man that I can identify with, in terms of the balance between physical science and ministry. And apparent "failure" from a worldly standard that infects the Church today. He reads like a person that I want to know more of.

Hi Justin. John Roxborogh wrote a bio of Chalmers, published by Rutherford House, Edinburgh (1999). In the UK it's distributed by Paternoster and is still in print. Eisenbrauns carries much of Pateroster's line here in the US, but shows that one unavailable.

Justin: I am writing one right now. There is a brief tidbit in Iaian Murray's survey of Scottish church history and there is some good material in the St. Andrew's Seven--but, that's about all there is currently in print. I've been reading and studying and collecting Chalmers for over a decade now and will have both an anthology and a biography out soon.
