i’m so excited! i just turned on the computer to check was the readings for nov 1st are! = )
woot!
Just finished my first day of reading. I’ll have to experiment with what time of day I’ll be reading, but I am stoked! Just wanted to share with you the big observation that jumped out at me as I was reading both Genesis and Matthew. God is soooo BIG! I know, simple, basic concept, but sometimes I need to be knocked over with that reality. Its so easy sometimes to try and do things on our own, and take care of things that may seem insignificant to God, but I was blasted with the reminder that the big God who created the universe in a day, took extreme care to make each and every creature, each with their own unique qualities. Amazing. This big God also planned out generations in order to get the perfect line-up for His son, our savior. So cool. And amazingly enough, He is both so big He can handle what we give Him, and so personal, He wants us to share it ALL. Wow.
I also laughed at the passage at the end of Gen. 3, that says Adam and Eve hid when they heard God walking through the garden. How often have I done that? I laughed because I thought of how ridiculous that is. God already knows, He was there. He is there, and I have the audacity to think I can hide. Again, simple, but something I need to have in my heart.
This coming year is going to rock. I’m looking forward to some old truths and many more new truths blowing my mind! Thanks Justin! And thanks for the bookmarks!
I’ve printed this reading plan twice, but it’s not dark enough to read. Do you have a different copy?
I’m enjoying this reading plan so much. Thanks for sharing it beyond 20′s and on your Blog! I have been finding my heart so touched….to the point of tearing up…..with all the joyous reunions of family members. Brothers, Father’s and Sons. The Grace evident in Joseph’s story has been deeply impactful. Loving my morning feast on God’s word!
I, too, have been impacted by Joseph’s story. Most significant to me has been noting how many times Joseph wept when reuniting with his brothers–I believe I counted 4 times recorded in the text. This makes me want to be a better cry-er, a more free flowing cry-er (I’ve always been known as someone who doesn’t cry, which is a bad thing).
