Jesus would not have expelled Ted from the church. He would have said the same thing to Ted that He said to the woman caught in the act of adultery. “Go…and sin no more” These so-called “Christians” in the church certainly don’t act like the person that they claim to follow!

Mr. haggard should not have been outed from the chruch . the chruch should had been there to help him . For all have sined and go short of the Glore of God .

Most of the posts here seem to be from Christian followers; I for one, am not Christian. But, I wish the best for Ted and his congregation. What a shock to the church the news must have been and what a difficult thing it must have been to deal with the absense of such a great pastor. I feel for Ted, his wife and family; this must be a horrible situation to contend with. I think this only goes to show that sexuality has nothing to do with religious beliefs; you are what you are.

What a sad situation this is. Folks, satan works harder on ministers and their families than anyone else. If he can get them to fall then the people look at them and say if that can happen to them, then we don’t have a chance of making it. That’s a lie of course, but that’s satan’s plan to deceive. Can you imagine the pain the Haggard family must be going through? Pray for them and send love their way. That’s what Jesus would do. I have never met them in person but I love them because they are my family in the Lord. They are your’s to if you’re born again. Show love to them. We all need to be loved when we are hurt no matter what we have done. He knows, and you and I know it was wrong what he did, but we forgive just like God forgives, don’t we?

I PRAY ALL THAT READ THIS COMMENT WILL BE TOUCHED BECAUSE WHEN I VIEWED PASTOR TED HAGGARD AND HIS FAMMILY’S SITUATION ON HBO I WAS DEEPLY TOUCHED. ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE WE ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD AND THIS DOES NOT EXCLUDE MINISTERS, BUT IF WE HAVE SINNED WE HAVE A MEDIATOR BETWEEN US AND GOD AND PRAISE GOD THAT IS THE MESSIAH JESUS, WHOSE BLOOD WAS SHED FOR ALL SINS AND ALL MANKIND. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED OF US IS TO BE WILLING TO REPENT AND MAKE A COMPLETE TURN AROUND THAT WE MIGHT BE HEALED AND FORGIVEN. IN THE STORY IT APPEARS PASTOR TED HAS DONE ALL THIS SO I PRAY THAT GOD WILL TAKE HIM AND HIS FAMILY TO THE NEXT LEVEL BECAUSE SURELY PRAISE GOD THEY HAVE A MIGHTY TESTIMONY. MAY GOD RICHLY BLESS THEM AS HE DID WITH JOB WHO HAD SINNED NOT, BUT RECIEVED DOUBLE IN THE END FOR HIS TROUBLE AMEN. GOD BLESS AND KEEP THE HAGGARD FAMILY.

I find it amazing that Ted didn’t stand up to Oprah. When Oprah fought on the issue your sexuality is who you are. I think your sexuality is part of your behavior hetro, or homo sexual. I guess priests are nobodies, because they have no sexuality. Oprah’s money has definetly poluted her, because she seems to have a God complex.

Ted Haggard: after reading about his counseling I am of the opinion that he needs an excuse for his actions and is not taking in his accountability regarding his problem.
First of all I pity his family, they probably have felt hurt beyond any one’s understanding. We as adults know right from wrong and should be accountable for our actions. Blaming our brain is a poor excuse! As a Christian I would forgive him as we must forgive, but I would not want him as a pastor, and he was right in stepping down. He is to set an example for his congregation. In his counseling I hear self pity on his part and the part of the counsler. He needs to ask forgiveness of his family, church, friends and also forgive himself and move forward to do what is right, but not to hurt his wife again with this problem. It seems no one is addressing how his wife and children feel. Jesus always forgives when we ask, but expects us to go and do what is right!
God Bless him and his family. I will continue to pray for them.

Our Family has been at New Life for over 14 yrs. under Pastor Ted’s teaching and ministry.I am also a Husband and Father of 5 children myself and we were sickened and sad but, not really shocked. Having to deal with our sinful nature has always been a struggle for all Men of God. As difficult as Pastor Ted’s sin was for the members of our Church,I believe the most difficult thing for our family having our Pastor pulled away and he just kind of moved on to Phx. and is getting help he needs. Our Family and congregation not having the chance as a to really speak out and let the Haggard Family know how much we loved them and really cared for them was almost a worse situation. Things were keeped so secretive that we felt like we were dealing with a Death in the Family and did not have the opportunity to say good bye. I know it was a very unusual situation and it was an appropriate measure. He stepped down and did the right thing. But, it was a tough for most to move on and look towards the future after losing such a great and caring Pastor and his Family. I wanted to say Pastor Ted we love you and your wonderful family and pray that the Hand of God is on your Families lives. You will be fine and your faith has been tested and you have been humbled. And we all have or will find ourselves at the feet of God. God will forgive us and accept right then and there. God is an awesome God who really knows how to forgive and will worh His will in all of us if we let Him. Jesus Loves You and so do we..

To God be the Glory in all his people go through and Ted keep your head up God allowed that because he has a greater work for you, because you are exposed and in a state of humility now God is gonna take you higher, you have something to preach about real life experience hold on to Gods unchanging hands remember the prince of this world cometh and he findeth nothing in you its all out GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY I SEE GREAT THINGS GOD BLESS!!!!!

Sadly Ted is ‘stumbling’ once again and it seems as if Oprah is eating it up. I see she keeps asking him, “why doesn’t he just admit he’s gay, and doesn’t God love gay people too”. I guess I missed the part where he says he’s gay, but has said that God does love gay people (while God does care about them, he ‘does not’ agree with their lifestyle no matter what ‘anyone’ says.). I will keep Ted and his family in my prayers and Oprah needs to admit to herself that she needs Jesus too, and not the one that she’s made up in her mind.

**And the counselor started out by saying “You’re spiritually OK.” …”Have you memorized scripture?” Yes. “Have you been through inner healing?” Yes. He said, “According to the Bible, you are in fine relationship with the Lord Jesus.” And I said I think I am.**
Since when does memorizing scripture have anything to do with our standing in Christ?
What does inner healing even mean? Sounds like an Oprah-ism.
According to Ted’s interpretations of sexuality and the brain, homosexuality is not a sin, just an unwilling struggle.
