    LifeSaver Man

    img_03141

I’ve got this thing with my oldest son. It’s become a tradition over the last few months. Whenever Cru comes to visit me in my study at the church, or when we pop into my study after services on Sunday mornings, I give Cru half a LifeSaver. I don’t know why, but I keep LifeSavers in my study.

This is background to a funny conversation I had with Cru two nights ago:

ME: Cru, do you know what my job is? What does daddy do?

CRU: You give people LifeSavers. You’re LifeSaver Man!

Cru’s answer made me laugh. It also made me think that my son’s answer isn’t that far off the mark. One of the great priveleges of being a pastor is being used of God to save lives through gospel preaching and care.

By God’s call and grace, I get to be a LifeSaver Man who points other people to the ultimate LifeSaver Man.
