I’m Writing A Book About Dating Your Wife

Two weeks ago I signed a book contract with Crossway!

I am thrilled Crossway has offered me this opportunity to publish with them.

The book is preliminarily titled, Date Your Wife: How to Jumpstart the American Marriage.

I am passionate about the message of this book. I am dreaming big about how this book can impact men and marriages.

Now I just have to write the book.

I have a quick turn-around for this manuscript, it is due in less than four months. It will be challenging to plant a church and write a book at the same time.

I need you to pray for me and pray for this book. When you think of it, will you please pray that God guides and speeds my writing?

Along the way I will share more details about Date Your Wife. And soon I will blog about an opportunity for some of your ideas to make it into the book.

Thank you for praying for this project!

  1. Justin,
For the last time, you cannot date MY WIFE, even if you write a book about it.
I wanted to be the first one to make the joke. Did I succeed?
Praying for you as you write this book,
    Fred

  2. I knew that joke was coming. Fred, I’m glad you were the first to make it.

  3. You’ve got me! Where can I pre-order? Praying the next four months goes smoothly and to the glory of God.

  4. Congrats. I look forward to reading the book as I prepare myself for marriage. Praying for you and the book.

  5. I’m writing a book about dating your mom.

  6. what a great opportunity. go well with it brother.

  7. Congratulations Justin. God has you on a great adventure and I’m excited by all that he is doing. Your blog has been a source of wisdom for me and I’m excited that your book will help your gospel-focused message reach a larger audience. God is doing a great work through you for his kingdom.

  8. Great! Another marriage book. Just what the Christian community needs. I hope you make a lot of money.

  9. “MarketGarden”,

I’ve seen a lot of Christian marriage books out there, and very few of them cover the subject of a husband dating his wife. If there were more books like this, and more husbands (especially) reading them, more than likely the divorce rate for professing Christians would be significantly lower.

As a husband and pastor-church planter, I’m sure Justin is well aware of the deep need and special niche of this book’s topic. His goal in writing this book more than likely comes out of his own experience and fruit of dating his own wife, and his desire to motive more husbands to pursue their own wives through dating. He is very clearly not pursuing money, but the glory of Christ in marriage.

Money is nothing compared to the glory of Jesus in your marriage. Love is a better motive than money in writing a book–love for Jesus and love for your marriage and my marriage.

Love your blogger as you love yourself. Be quick to listen to what he says, and slow to comment what you assume to be true.

  10. Good luck dude! looking forward to it
