So Fun!

Before having kids I was an avid downhill mountain biker, riding intense downhill courses several times a week. It was my favorite thing to do. I had a lot of fun and I had a lot of injuries. I only entered two races, one of which I didn’t finish because I broke my bike, shoulder, and helmet in a bad crash.

Watching this video made me really miss downhill/free-ride biking (I never did anything as intense as this rider). If you enjoy this kind of riding, this is such a fun video, you feel like you’re on the bike.

  1. That was amazing. The potential for serious injury seems so much more. Instead of wooden trees, and dirt, it’s cement walls. Ouch, but I suppose cement walls might feel better than falling on jagged rocks.

I had sold my mountain bike (Ellsworth Dare) when I married, but just last year I found a steal for an Ellsworth Moment on Craig’s list so I jumped on it. But now my knee is giving me troubles! I had a knee surgery late last year and haven’t ridden since. The curse of sin!

  2. Oh wow! What a trip! Reminds me of my husband’s “bike to work” video from when we lived in Switzerland…just MUCH more dangerous! LOL! http://fortytoes.wordpress.com/2009/10/28/viva-la-velo-part-ii/

  3. Coming from the perspective of just your average mtn.biker and seeing this only make me fired up. I know I can’t do this kinda of stuff any more w/my age and all but its definitely inspiring to got out there and get stronger, a little more daring, and ride to have fun.
    Thanks for posting.

  4. My butt hurts just watching it.
