Preaching Is Like Giving Birth

I think it was Ian Pitt Watson who once said that writing a sermon is like giving birth--sometimes the labor is short and sweet, sometimes the labor is long and difficult. This week I had a long and difficult labor with Philippians 2:12&13. Fortunately, the labor is over now and I've got some time to rest before I present this newborn to the congregation on Sunday morning.
