Text and Context Conference: Session 3, John Piper
My computer crashed during this third session, so unfortunately I lost all of my notes. You'll have to listen to the audio.A few quick notes from the evening:
- Driscoll displayed great affection for John Piper as he introduced him with tears in his eyes.
- I've seen Piper preach several times and this is the first time I've seen him preach without a tie.
- The bulk of Piper's message, Why I Trust the Scriptures, was an exposition of his five-fold rationale for why he finds the Bible trustworthy, inspired, and inerrant.
- Piper's message was solid and helpful, though also quite dense. I think I need to re-listen to this message several times to fully grasp all that Piper had to say.
- Above all, Piper's message makes me want to study my Bible more.
