The 3 Fs: Friendship, Finances, & Fun

Last week I received another message like this one above, which pushed me to finally start something I've been thinking about for years. I've been a pastor since age 23 (20 years), and I've discovered many pastors need help with what I call "The 3 Fs": Friendship, Finances, and Fun. Many (most?) pastors need help prioritizing friendship, growing and stewarding money through investing, and having more fun (all of which gives God great glory, and makes for healthier pastors and churches). I know too many pastors short on friends, finances, and fun.
I've always been passionate about The 3 Fs, but the last few years I've received messages nearly every week from pastors asking for help in these arenas. Last week's ask for help felt like God nudging me to make something happen. So, to hold myself accountable to actually do something, I wrote a quick Instagram post about The 3 Fs. Surprisingly to me, demand for joining a cohort focused on The 3 Fs was more global than I thought and many women and men who are not pastors contacted me, asking if they could join the cohort or if I could start something for them.
Last week I posted that I'd start this by starting small, an initial cohort of 5-10 pastors to join me in a journey through The 3 Fs—perhaps one local cohort of 5 pastors that meets in my backyard, and 1 virtual cohort of 5 pastors from around the country (and maybe other countries if I can make time zones work). I still think I want to start this way, but experiencing people's response to this is making me slow down to reflect and strategize on this more.
So, here's the deal: To "apply" to be in this first cohort simply take 2 minutes to fill out this contact form and tell me a little bit about yourself and why you want to join this cohort. If you've already filled out the form, you're good, I've got it. If you're not a pastor, you may still apply. I'm 98% sure I will start this focused only on pastors, but I want to take the rest of the month to think and pray on this, and at least this way I've got your contact info in case I expand this in the future.
The deadline to apply is December 31st. Space is very limited. By early January I'll select and contact the first cohort members, then we'll start. There will be a fee for joining this community. And know that this is start up territory—you're not joining something polished. I still need to form how I'll provide the connection and content around The 3 Fs, and much of that will take shape during this first journey together. Also, here's the disclaimer: I'm not a licensed investment advisor or financial planner. I'm just a guy wanting to help. Risk is involved. But, as I like to say: Risk, or Rust.
