Tuesday List: A Few Reasons Why You May Want To Stop Reading My Blog

Here's a different Tuesday List for you this week, a list of 7 reasons why you may want to consider no longer reading my blog. I may be shooting myself in the foot here by attempting to persuade some of you (emphasis on "some") to stop reading what I write here, but the reason why I started this blog 352 days ago wasn't to gain impressive readership numbers, but to serve my readers. So, hopefully this different kind of post will continue that aim and be of service to you.1. If you spend more time reading this blog/blogs in general than you spend reading your Bible, you most certainly should stop reading my blog. The statistics from my Sitemeter show that Buzzard Blog readers spend anywhere from 2 minutes to over 1 hr. a day on this site. For many of you, that time needs to be reinvested in the Scriptures.2. If you spend more time reading this blog/blogs in general than you spend reading quality books that feed your soul and draw you to a greater appreciation of the Savior, you need to take a sabbatical from this blog. I like to think that I write some good content here, but there are far wiser and godlier authors out there who will feed your soul better than the servings offered here.3. If this blog is a distraction from your work, from staying focused during your work day and working hard at what you do unto God's glory, you should delete my blog from your feed reader. Blog reading can become addicting. Some of you may need to assess whether or not checking out the latest content from this and other blogs has become an unhealthy habit/distraction.4. I've been blogging for just shy of 1 year and have gained several hundred daily Buzzard Blog readers. But, there are guys who've been blogging for many years and who have thousands of people who read their posts. I read other blogs (see left sidebar) because I think they're better than mine, so you should balance your blog diet with servings from chefs who've been around longer than me.5. Along these same lines, someone from Kansas has given my blog an "Indie Blog" award.I think criteria #1, #3, #4, and #6 are overstated if applied to this blog, but nonetheless I've been labeled as an Indie Blog and if you aren't into the Indie thing, you may want to stop reading my Indie stuff.6. Another blogger has stolen my Tuesday List idea. Danny's lists (we're friends) might be better than mine, so you may want to read his lists instead of my lists.7. Roughly 79% of Americans spend too much time on the Internet and my blog only contributes to the problem. Please note that I just made up this statistic. "79%" sounded realistic, memorable, and official to me, so I went with it. That's a bonus reason to stop reading my blog--I made up a statistic.
